Yellow Flowers

Stella D’Oro Daylily, Hemerocallis
Perennial Flower
Hemerocallis comes from the combined Greek words, of Hemera, meaning ‘Day’ and Kalos, meaning ‘Beautiful.’ In this day and age, there are so many different types of daylily in so many variations of color and shape – perhaps more than 70 – that it can be hard to distinguish one from the other. Despite their name, they are not true lilies and they belong to a different plant family. They are easy to grow and don’t require much maintenance once established. Most daylilies you will encounter are hybrids, so they will not grow in the same way if you try to grow them from seed. Their drought and cold tolerance make them particularly great choices for the Rocky Mountain region.

Tickseed, Coreopsis
Perennial Flower
Height: 6″- 24″
Full Sun
Tickseed is another ideal plant for the Rocky Mountain region. It boasts beautiful daisy-like yellow blooms that will continue blooming all season long if you deadhead the dried flower tops. They are native to North and South America and adapt readily to most soils and weather conditions, making them great xeriscaping plants for long-lasting color.
